Green Split Peas Soup

Green Split Pea Soup 400g Dan-D-Pak™ Green Split Peas 1 Ltr water 1 can chicken broth 1 cup half & half cream 1/2 tsp Dan-D-PakTM

Ingredients

  • 400g Dan-D-Pak™ Green Split Peas
  • 1 Ltr water
  • 1 can chicken broth
  • 1 cup half & half cream
  • 1/2 tsp Dan-D-PakTM Parsley Flakes
  • salt & pepper to taste

Preparation

  • Wash and clean Dan-D-Pak™ Green Split Peas.
  • Soak in the water for 30 minutes.
  • In a soup kettle over high heat
  • Bring the water to boil
  • Stir in the split peas
  • Reduce the heat to medium, cover
  • and cook for 20 minutes, or until the peas are tender
  • Remove the kettle from the heat and let cool for 10 minutes

Cooking Instructions

In a blender

  • blend the cooked peas, with its liquid, until smooth
  • Pour the blended peas back to the kettle
  • Stir in the chicken broth and cream
  • Cook over low heat till the ingredients mix well
  • Stir often during the cooking process
  • Add in Dan-D-Pak Parsley Flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Serve hot with bread or crackers.
