1. In a large mixing bowl, combine oats, flour and sugar, blend well.
2. Add in butter, mix well.
3. Add water, mix until dough holds together.
4. Add a bit more water if needed.
5. Divide dough in half
6. Flatten each half into a disk, and roll out one of the disks on a lightly floured surface until you have a circle that’s about 12 inches in diameter.
7. Put the circle in a 9″ pie plate, trimming any extra dough from the edges with a sharp knife.
8. Return it to the refrigerator until you are ready to make the pie.
9. Add fillings.
10. Roll out the second ball of dough and cover top.
11. Use a fork or your fingers to pinch the edges together.
12. Cut a couple slits in the top.
13. Bake at 400oF for 35 to 40 minutes, or until apples are tender.
1. Heat butter in a skillet
2. Stir in apples, and sauté for 5 minutes.
3. Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon and apple juice.
4. Cook until juice is absorbed.
5. Spoon filling into prepared pie crust.
Serve warm with whipping cream or ice cream.
