Dan On Foundation Donates To Planet Smile, Bringing Smiles To Children In Mexico

On November 30, 2024, Dan On Foundation proudly donated to Planet Smile for Kids to support a fundraising event for Comunicabo, a nonprofit organization in Baja California Sur, Mexico. Comunicabo specializes in providing care for children with cleft lip and palate (CLP). As a Diamond Sponsor, Dan On Foundation contributed 5,000 CAD (nearly 90 million VND) to help children with CLP build confidence, integrate into society, and reach their full potential.

In 2023, the foundation sponsored the renovation of the Comprehensive Cleft Lip and Palate Treatment Center at the National Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This initiative connected Planet Smile for Kids with specialists from the Cleft Lip/Palate and Craniofacial Program at Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children and the BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, Canada, to share expertise with Vietnamese medical professionals. The upgraded center demonstrates Dan On Foundation’s commitment to providing sustainable, long-term solutions for children with CLP worldwide.

Looking ahead to 2025, Dan On Foundation plans to further its mission by supporting Vietnamese doctors in training programs in Canada. These programs focus on advanced surgical techniques to enhance aesthetic outcomes for children with CLP. The knowledge and skills gained will be applied in Vietnam, ensuring children across the country have access to high-quality care and treatment, regardless of location.
